Suzuki Jimny 2023 full audio upgrade v2 – hidden subwoofers!

If you’re a Suzuki Jimny owner, you know that this compact off-roader is known for its practicality and versatility, with its small size and 4WD capabilities. However, the one thing it’s not known for is its sound system. That’s where we come in.
At our store, we have upgraded a good number of Suzuki Jimnys, and we’ve learned that there are two main groups of people who come to us for upgrades. One group seeks deep bass and wants to have a powerful system that can make your energy flowing! The other group prefers to keep all the storage space available for them, but they still want great quality and a high-precision audio system. In this video, we focused on the second group and kept the little boot space unused, while introducing a more stealth subwoofer option for the Jimny.
Original Setup:
The Suzuki’s original stereo system included:
- 2 mini 4″ paper-cone speaker drivers
- No tweeters
- Low volume
- Poor Quality
- Minimal Bass
- Tinny sound and uncomfortable vibrations
- Your beach BT speaker is probably better

New Setup:
The new car audio system installed by Soundtech included:
- 5.25″ 100W RMS component speaker drivers
- 4″ rear coaxial speakers
- 5 channel DSP amplifier MATCH
- 2x mini floor subwoofer 200W RMS
- Soundproofed doors and panels
About the upgrade:
This complete upgrade consists of removing the two micro door speakers, which we responsibly threw in the bin, and upgrading them with larger component speakers. We also added two rear coaxial speakers to the mix, which were all powered by a hidden MATCH 5.4DSP amplifier. This amplifier had an extra subwoofer channel available, which we used up by installing a pair of underseat subs – the FOCAL ISUB TWIN.
To ensure the sound system performed at its best, we soundproofed the front doors. We also fitted the car with a 2ch dashcam, with all cables neatly tacked up. The end result is a very clear performance from the sound system, and the custom tuning we did brings the speakers to the best of their capabilities.
Now, the twin subs may not have the same power as our other solution with the ported 8″ box, but it’s still a very good combination that provides the needed bass support to the otherwise nearly bass-less speakers.
